Lanna people have a worldview that humans consist of body and mind and these two parts are in close relationship to each other. When any part has an onset of illness or discomfort that has some effect on the other part as well. The health care processes of Lanna people cannot be separate from only one part to heal, but they use the format of how to care for the body, mind and soul, which is called holistic health care. Many formats of holistic health care of Lanna people show the relationship between mind and body, such as: healing by used herbs; healing by controlling eating behavior and life style concerned with illness symptoms and local beliefs; healing by massage; healing by ritual; and healing by Dhamma and local beliefs. In addition, the format of health care of Lanna people shows the relationship between humans, humans and nature, and humans and supernatural power.
